I saw this article and was reminded of how thankful I am

I don’t normally make a lot of comments on this site other than about the team and the games, but I recently read this short article on ESPN and it reminded me of how thankful I am for the players and parents that have been involved with this team.

For those who are wary of clicking links (I understand), the article is about a parent who pulled a gun on his son’s youth football coach because the son was not getting enough playing time.  Thankfully, no shots were fired.

While I am sure that there are probably times when you or your child may disagree with something I have done as a coach, I do try to be fair.  If you ever feel really angry about something I have done, please try talking to me about it before you bring out the gun!

  1. sad but true. google youth sports violence and you can find a plethora of displays of stupidity such as this one. kids are being forced to observe things they shouldnt have to and parents are to blame (of course sometimes the coach is truly wrong, but we all know that violence doesnt solve the problem). i guess we will have to start having metal detectors and mandatory patdowns before games soon! coaches and refs wearing kevlar and packing heat! heck give everyone in attendance a gun so that its fair for all! hope you can see through the sarcasm…sad day indeed when kids are scared to go to their games because of the actions of idiots like this guy….
